HP Fingerprint Reader Software. Select the Driver tab. Once a logon account is registered and you have enrolled a fingerprint in the access manager, you can use your fingerprint to log into those applications and web sites.

Open the Device Managerand then expand the Biometric list of recognized sensor devices. Go to Biometric Devices in Control Panel and remove fingerprint data. This is because the hardware may not be installed on the notebook, or it may be damaged. Under Select Series, choose Drivers. Win 7 comes with Authentec drivers version 8.
I have found the best way to keep this from happening is to make sure in the device's properties, that you have the checkbox UNCLICKED to allow the system to set the device to sleep.
